Many of us expected a Mars mission and even a base within a decade after the Apollo missions, but it has been nearly fifty years. Why has little progress been made? Why do we lose so many probes sent to the red planet? Why is it hard to get there and even harder to actually land? Our panelists discuss why it has taken so long and why it is so hard.
