Howard Carter came to SF through watching Star Trek reruns in the 70s but didn't become a Con goer until the 2000s.  He's a major classic film fan who is constantly hoping to see better SF films.  For his day job, he has spent the majority of his career working for various NASA contractors.  He has worked on projects ranging from EVA tools and Shuttle payloads to the Orion capsule.  Currently he supports the Commercial LEO Development Program.
